WATER TESTING
We offer free water testing! Here's what you need to know before you bring in your sample:
- Bring in at least a cup full (250mL) in any sort of vessel that is clean and rinsed out very well with the water that we are going to be testing. This could be a mason jar, water bottle, Tupperware container etc. as long as it has a tight seal. (If your concern is sulphur, make sure you fill the vessel up to the top and put the lid on QUICK! Sulphur is a gas and will quickly disspiate)
- We need to test a raw/untreated sample. This means water that has not been put through any sort of water treatment equipment, including sediment & carbon/charcoal filters. If you currently have water treatment equipment- bring us a sample of that too. We are able to tell if your current water treatment is working or not.
- A raw sample should be taken right from the pressure tank or tap that isn't connected to any water treatment equipment. This typically is an outdoor faucet (remove the hose first). We ALWAYS need a sample from the cold side of the tap- never hot.
- Looking for a FREE at home water test? No problem! Give us a call or e-mail and we can test your water on site.
- There is no charge or obligation for testing your water.
- We cannot test for bacteria, but we can treat it! Bacteria testing must be done through Public Health. This also requires a specialty bottle that can be picked up at your local testing drop off centre.
